Aardman Digital to redesign Walker website

The digital wing of the company responsible for Wallace and Gromit is to redesign and relaunch Walker Books' website.

The site is due to go live in early 2012 after a revamp by Aardman Digital. Among the features, Walker Books said it "will focus on improving the user journey, overhauling the design [and] adding new tools". It said it will feature online activities and downloads for young readers.

Helen McAleer, Walker Books m.d., said: "In this time of digital innovation, we want to make sure our online presence is as fresh and engaging as possible. We’ve been working hard at Walker to build an online community via our innovative social media activity and now we want to offer them the most engaging website we can. Aardman and Walker share many company values, including a commitment to excellence and providing the best possible experience for children, and we’re delighted to have found the perfect partners to work with us on our new website."

Karen Heldoorn, head of client services at Aardman Digital, said: "We are incredibly excited about this new project with Walker Books, our expertise lies in creating and presenting content for children and we cannot wait to get our teeth into applying this to the online Walker Books experience."
