The AA is to launch a new series of travel guides that celebrate “the very best that Britain has to offer”.
The regional guidebooks will be published under the strapline “We Know Britain” and will be written by local travel writers.
Each book will include the best places to eat and drink, what to see and do, and information about local campsites.
They will also include detailed commentary, trivia and background on each region, “giving each book a distinct regional flavour”, and include town plans and maps.
The first eight guides will look at Cornwall, The Cotswolds, Durham and Northumberland, the Lake District and Cumbria, Norfolk and Suffolk, The Peak District, Wales and Yorkshire.
Head of AA Media David Watchus said: “The AA has long been one of Britain’s most successful travel publishers, producing guide books about Britain for over 100 years.
“This wonderful new series of guides draws on our vast knowledge and experience to bring the travel guide bang up to date for the modern traveller – the perfect companion for whether you’re planning a weekend away or a ‘staycation’ summer holiday.”
The new guides will be published on 14th April.
