A year in review: Huge surge completes Pan Mac push into fourth

An ongoing theme of The Bookseller’s last few publisher performance-related Review of the Year features has been the rise and rise of Pan Macmillan. Our 2016 edition does not break that trend.

Led by Joe Wicks and the formidable Julia Donaldson, Pan Mac had a record-shattering best year ever through Nielsen BookScan’s Total Consumer Market, up almost 27% to £77.7m. It had never previously topped the £65m mark.
