The Gollancz Festival is to expand to hold an additional event for aspiring writers.
The festival, which takes place at Waterstones Manchester Deansgate on 16th October and Waterstones London Piccadilly on 17th October, as well as online on both days, will include a series of events featuring authors including Aliette de Bodard, Anna Caltabiano, Charlaine Harris and Mark Stay.
Following feedback from fans, the festival will now also be holding The Gollancz Festival for Writers at Waterstones Piccadilly on Sunday 18th October.
The event is aimed at aspiring writers and anyone looking for an insight into an author’s process.
It will include talks from authors Ben Aaronovitch, Joe Abercrombie, Joanne Harris and Joe Hill, as well as a panel of debut writers discussing ‘the trials and tribulations of their first year in print’.
Gollancz publishing director, Gillian Redfearn said: “Gollancz has always encouraged new writers so I’m thrilled that we’re able to offer a bespoke event focused on helping them to build their craft. We’ve developed a programme of practical and inspiring talks from genre-leading authors, and debut novelists, as well as industry-leading agents and editors.”
Tickets for the author event cost £8 each, or £6 for Waterstones card holders.
Tickets to The Gollancz Festival at Waterstones London Piccadilly have sold out but there are still tickets left for the festival at Waterstones Manchester Deansgate.
