Fry rules 2017 audio download chart

In 2016, Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train ruled the end-of-year digital charts, from e-book to audio download, but 2017’s Audible number one, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes: The Definitive Collection, was an audio one-off—its nearest print equivalent, The Complete Sherlock Holmes (Penguin), sold just 2,447 copies in 2017.

Narrated by Stephen Fry, the nine-story collection spent four months atop the Audible chart over the summer—only briefly interrupted in May by Hawkins’ Into the Water—and it has racked up a total of 11 months in the top 20 since its release in February.
