Being shortlisted for the 2016 Man Booker Prize catapulted Graeme Macrae Burnet and his publisher Saraband into the spotlight, and the benefits are still being reaped. From that point to the prize ceremony, his novel His Bloody Project (Contraband) was the shortlist’s bestseller by far: in those six weeks, it sold 28,039 copies, 407% up on the 5,527 copies it shifted between that point and its longlisting (July 2016).
