New lockdown regulations in Wales, Ireland and England will see bookshops closing their doors once again in the coming weeks.
In Wales, the so-called “firebreak” lockdown began on Friday 23rd October and will last until 9th November. People are advised to stay at home, with gatherings of more than one household both inside and outside banned.
In Ireland, restrictions similar to the first national lockdown will came into force on Wednesday 21st October. The rules, in place for six weeks but reviewed after four, will see people asked to stay at home and non-essential shops told to close.
Whilst in England, lockdown will start tomorrow (Thursday 5th November) and restrictions — which include non-essential retail, including bookshops, having to close for browsing— will be in place until Wednesday 2nd December.
See our guide below on how bookshops in affected areas are continuing to operate under new regulations.
