Kate Mosse on Agatha Christie

This year marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of Agatha Christie, queen of crime, and to mark it an international vote is taking place to find the world’s favourite Christie novel.
Authors and celebrities are getting involved and have chosen their favourite Agatha Christie novels, which they are championing online. International bestselling author Kate Mosse chose Marple’s last mystery Sleeping Murder as her favourite and explains why for WLTB. She says: "Miss Marple is one of those exceptional characters in fiction, in that she is an old woman who is there on her own terms…she gets to solve the mysteries because old women are overlooked". She also describes how Christie’s undying respect for her readers has influenced the writing of her own bestsellers.
You can see what other celebrities have to say and vote for your own favourite on www.worldsfavouritechristie.com until 31 May. The winning novel will be announced at the beginning of September, Christie’s birthday month. If you're on Twitter have a look at the #faveChristie hashtag and follow @QueenOfCrime.
