The British Book Awards

Grosvenor House, Park Lane
May 13, 2019

The British Book Awards or Nibbies has been the leading awards for the book trade since 1990. Celebrating the best books, the best bookshops and the best publishers it is supported by all major industry associations including The Publishers Association, The Booksellers Association and the Independent Publishers Guild.

Owned and organized by The Bookseller and judged by leading industry experts it is regarded as ‘the BAFTAs of the book trade’.

The 2019 awards will see its Children’s Book of the Year prize split into two and a new Small Press of the Year award. Entry requirements for Independent Bookshop of the Year have been simplified to make it easier for smaller independent bookshops to enter prompting managing director of the Booksellers Association, Meryl Halls to say:

“We are thrilled to see the ongoing commitment to indie bookshops and high street bookselling generally in the Nibbies, and to the essential celebration for the heroes of our high streets, forging ahead with creative enthusiasm and energy in spite of constant challenges.”

The 2019 Awards ceremony will take place on 13th May at The Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
