Wayward TxF has fallen for JM Kearl’s vampire romance The Assassin’s Way in a three-book deal.
Publishing director Rachel Winterbottom acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, and exclusive Europe rights from Katie Shea Boutillier at Donald Maass Literary Agency. Boutillier commented: "When I read The Assassin’s Way, I was immediately hooked with the intensity of the world and the beautiful writing of JM Kearl."
The synopsis reads: "Never go out at night. Lock the doors. Ignore the screams. Those are the rules Aesira lives by to survive the monsters that stalk her village. Then she discovers she was born with the power to fight the vampires she’s spent her life fearing.
"Aesira is thrust into the League of Assassins, where mercy is weakness and fear is forbidden. Now her survival depends on her ruthless trainer, Vander – the most dangerous assassin of them all. But the greatest threat in Nighthaven might not be the monsters lurking in the dark… It might be him."
"I am beyond thrilled to be working with the dream team at Wayward TxF! Rachel and the team showed such excitement for The Assassin’s Way from the beginning," said Kearl.
Winterbottom added: "Like JM Kearl’s bestselling Bow Before the Elf Queen, The Assassin’s Way has that same irresistible mix of high-stakes romance, dark fantasy and immersive world-building that kept me turning the pages long after dark. Readers are going to devour this."
