September 2018 New Titles: Fiction Previews

Literary fiction dominates my Editor’s Choices this month, for which I make
 no apology as this September is particularly rich. If you follow me on Twitter (@aliceokbooks) you might be aware of the particularly difficulty I had choosing a Book of the Month. If I were allowed to choose two, I think the new Sally Rooney would be up there. Normal People (Faber) is every bit as good as her phenomenal début Conversations with Friends. This is a writer who I feel is doing something genuinely new and fresh and exciting with the novel, and I don’t get that feeling very often.
