The nights are drawing in: it’s October in the world of paperbacks, and there is plenty to curl up with in front of a roaring fire, from Leïla Slimani’s disturbing bestseller Adele to the new Diane Setterfield, a big focus for Doubleday this autumn, and a tranche of excellent thrillers led by Lucy Foley’s The Hunting Party.
