Every time I preview June's Father’s Day-targeted publishing, I think of the fact that my own late father only ever read non-fiction. And while you may instantly suggest an array of novels with which to tempt those buying gifts for Dad this month, books from the traditional non-fiction heartland aimed at male readers are prominent once again, from James O’Connell’s Three Days in June to Phil Campion’s Who Dares Wins and John Nichol’s Tornado.
