January 2020 Paperback Previews

Aaaand we’re back. After an extremely quiet December, January is teeming with paperback delights—some major sellers from the likes of Kate Atkinson and Stephen King, and literary hard-hitters in the form of the just-anointed Gordon Burn prize winner, David Keenan’s For the Good Times. There’s a lot of strong commercial fiction too, as publishers bank on the need for cosy post-Christmas reads; ditto crime—who wouldn’t want to snuggle up with the new Jo Nesbø or Dorothy Koomson?
