January 2020 Children's Previews

The year gets off to a relatively quiet start this month, with around 15% fewer titles in my preview than January 2019. But don’t be fooled: over the past few years February has become an ever more key month for children’s releases, ahead of World Book Day, and my postbag suggests 2020 will be bigger than ever. That said, three of the biggest paperbacks of the year are set to boost January sales: Jeff Kinney’s The Meltdown and similarly winter-themed The Ice Monster from David Walliams and Tony Ross, while in YA, Karen McManus returns with her third high school thriller One of Us is Next.
