With titles slipping and sliding all over the place at the moment, some of my favourite books of previous months have now moved into August. I haven’t highlighted them in my editor’s picks, as I wanted to give other titles a chance, but I was keen to mention them here as I’m sure they will be big (and they’re also brilliant): Kerry Hudson’s memoir about growing up poor and working class, Lowborn, is now out in paperback in August, as is Robert Macfarlane’s exceptional Underland.
