April 2022 New Titles: Fiction Previews

Happy New Year! Although, in the world of New Titles, we are already up to April—another humongous month for fiction.

In literary fiction there are plenty of starry names—led by my Book of the Month, the extraordinary Young Mungo (Picador) from Booker Prize-winner Douglas Stuart. There will be lots of interest in the new, very erudite novel from Julian Barnes, Elizabeth Finch (Cape), which urges readers to think for themselves. Ali Smith’s Companion Piece (Hamish Hamilton) is indeed a companion piece to her Booker-shortlisted Seasonal Quartet.
