UK Sales Executive, Adult

An opportunity to join the Sales Team of a top 5 UK Publisher at a time of dynamic investment and growth.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual, with strong interpersonal skills and excellent attention to detail. You will have administration and sales experience, be able to juggle numerous tasks, while being deadline focused and results driven. Working as part of a busy team, you will have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and a collaborative working style. 

We are looking to recruit an individual with proven account handling experience to join in our fast-paced adult sales team supporting an area of the Adult Key Accounts including specific customer responsibilities and ownership of some broader sales team tasks.

The role will be responsible for supporting the sell in process to a selection of key accounts and will take ownership of the administration required. They will help implement the sales strategy under the guidance of a Head of Sales to deliver profitable sales growth for Bloomsbury Adult titles. They will be the first point of contact for day-to-day queries from the customers in their remit.

As well as including some direct selling and broader departmental responsibilities, the successful candidate will be a contributing voice in the UK Sales team title acquisition discussions and strategies.

The UK Sales Executive, Adult will report in to a UK Head of Sales and will be based in our Bedford Square office. This will be a hybrid-working position. 

The role

  • Supporting the sell in to a selection of key accounts
  • Direct selling responsibilities
  • Ownership of a share of broader sales team tasks
  • Under the guidance of the Head of Sales and Sales Director, create and deliver annual strategic plans for delivering the required sales targets for specific key accounts the role is responsible for
  • Keep the key accounts the role is responsible for informed of all title activity including Award Winners/Marketing & PR Campaigns and other highlighted titles and series
  • Participate in the publishing process from the acquisition process to publication working closely with colleagues from the editorial, marketing and publicity departments across Adult. Contribute to weekly title submissions discussions and give confident, informed opinions
  • Be market aware using TCM analysis/competitor activity to support customer sell in and contribution to internal team discussions
  • Be confident in using Biblio, and run Biblio reports/pub schedules on request
  • Provide proactive support to the Heads of Sales and UK Adult Sales Director as required, including market research, data analysis, researching acquisition figures, inputting acquisition figures into Biblio, assisting with pulling reports for customer and departmental  business reviews
  • Liaise with Bloomsbury stock management teams, warehouse teams and other Bloomsbury departments to ensure efficient processing of and timely delivery of customer orders
  • Seek out extra sales opportunities for Bloomsbury titles
  • Help out with author signing sessions and other ad hoc admin tasks
  • Attend author events
  • Cover for colleagues when necessary

Additional information

The role is a full-time permanent position

Salary Range: 29,000 - £35,000

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred).  Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday.
