US literary agency Writers House is setting up a London office to support its authors, including the likes of Ken Follett, Stephenie Meyer and Christopher Paolini.
The office will be headed up by the agency's British rights director Angharad Kowal who will support the agency's work in the United Kingdom and British Commonwealth, Australia and New Zealand.
Over the past year Kowal has brokered UK specific deals for authors including Nora Roberts, Neil Gaiman and Laurell K Hamilton. Kowal will be at this year's London Book Fair to showcase the agency's list.
She said: "I'm very much looking forward to introducing new Writers House authors to the British and Australian markets as well as continuing to support and strengthen our established authors in 2009."
