Ed Wood, senior editor at Sphere, has signed three more books by Outlaw author Angus Donald, in his first deal at the publisher.
Wood acquired world English Language rights from Ian Drury at Sheil Land Associates.
The novels will continue the story of Donald's Outlaw Chronicles series, following on from Grail Knight, to be published in summer 2013. Robin Hood and Sir Alan Dale will take on the Templars, de Montford's Crusaders and King John in three more episodes of "medieval mayhem".
Wood said: "I’m delighted that on only my first day with Sphere I was able to ensure our continued commitment to Angus. For me, his enthralling Robin Hood series The Outlaw Chronicles has it all: it is superbly researched, packed with action and full of fascinating moral crises. Readers will be wowed by the fifth book in the series, Grail Knight, and we have some surprises planned for 2013.”
Wood was previously editor of The Bookseller's sister magazine, We Love This Book.
