Wood leaves Kobo

Kobo UK country manager Phil Wood has left the company, with the Canadian group's  executive vice president and general manager Wayne White taking over his role.

Wood joined Kobo as country manager in March this year and most recently conducted a tour of indie booksellers in the UK to showcase the Kobo device and offer bookshops a chance to sell Kobo e-readers and books.

Wood is understood to have left last week with immediate effect.

A statement from Kobo said: "Kobo recently hired EVP and General Manager, Wayne White, who is very focused on building out a world class global team, the UK is an extremely important and strategic market for Kobo and we're excited for the launch of the Kobo Family of e-readers heading into the holiday season."
