Weidenfeld and Nicolson has acquired two new novels by crime writer, Gillian Flynn.
Kirsty Dunseath, publishing director at the Orion imprint, bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Linda Kaplan, director of subsidiary rights, and Karin Schulze, assistant director of foreign rights at Crown.
The first book, provisionally titled Gone Girl, will be published in 2011. Dunseath said: “It is a pleasure to publish Gillian and I'm absolutely delighted to have bought two new books by such a talented writer.”
Flynn's debut novel, Sharp Objects, was published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson in January 2007. The title won her two awards: the Crime Writers’ Association Award's New Blood Dagger for Best Newcomer and the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award for Best Thriller.
Her second novel, Dark Places, will also be published by Weidenfeld and Nicolson on 14th May.
