Wm Heinemann completes on Walker debut
09.10.12 | Benedicte Page
Wm Heinemann publisher Jason Arthur has won an auction for a "state of the nation novel" set in the age of property obsession, Completion by Independent columnist Tim Walker.
Arthur bought UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) in the debut from Jane Finigan at Lutyens & Rubinstein and will publish in 2013.
The novel deals with a divorced couple whose north London home has fallen out of use since their parting and the departure of their family. When it is decided that it is finally time to sell, some unexpected new occupants are discovered.
Arthur called Completion "a sharp, sardonic, perceptive and painfully funny book about money, love, sex and the sorrows and joys of modern family life".
