Henry Winkler, David Almond and Alex T Smith will visit Bristol Children’s Hospital later this month as part of the partnership between Bath children’s festival and the ReadWell charity.
The Telegraph Bath Children’s Literature Festival is working with ReadWell this year and will take Winkler, Almond and Smith to visit children at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) on 29thh and 30th September.
ReadWell Manager Vicky Pember said Bath festival has chosen some “amazing authors” to take part in the school visits. “Its ethos, like ours, is simple: to entertain children and to enthuse them about reading.”
ReadWell launched in 2010 and supplies free books to children in hospital, as well as funding visits from professional storytellers and authors. It is now operational in 21 hospitals in the UK.
The charity launched its partnerships with festivals in May. So far it has worked with the Hay Festival and The Manchester Children’s Festival.
