Wigmore no fools with Boycie book
22.08.11 | Charlotte Williams
An autobiography by “Only Fools and Horses” star John “Boycie” Challis will be the first book published by new company Wigmore Books, set up by writer Peter Burden.
Being Boycie will chart Challis’ life, both on- and off-screen, up until 1985. Burden plans also to release a second volume of his memoirs, to be called Beyond Boycie. The actor played the cognac-drinking character from 1981-2009. The book will be published as a £9.99 paperback on 29th September, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the show’s first episode.
Burden runs the company from his house in Ludlow. He will consider both fiction and non-fiction titles, although he said it was too early to say how many books would be published each year. Distribution is being handled by Marston Book Services, with sales and marketing by Zymurgy Publishing.
