Warner Bros publishes film scripts as e-books
30.04.12 | Lisa Campbell
Warner Bros has today released enhanced film scripts as e-books into three major digital bookstores.
Apple's iBookstore, Amazon's Kindle and Barnes & Noble's Nook store are selling titles from the company's "digital publishing initiative" Inside the Script, offering readers the shooting script from their favourite films in a "highly illustrated" e-book.
Warner Bros said the e-books, selling for £6.49, also contain "rare material from Warner Bros Corporate Archive", with the library containing scripts from films such as "Casablanca", "Ben-Hur", "An American in Paris" and "North by Northwest".
A spokesman for Warner Bros said: "Every Inside the Script title includes the film's complete shooting script in a customisable e-book format, dozens of chapters about the script and the film that detail the movie's development, rare historical documents such as production notes, storyboards and candid photos and an interactive image gallery of costumes, on-set stills, movie posters, set designs and behind-the-scenes photos."
Thomas Gewecke, president of Warner Bros Digital Distribution, said: "People love movies because of the stories they tell. Now we can give fans rarely seen details of how these stories came together and take their enjoyment of films to a whole new level."
