Usborne to launch Germany venture
12.04.12 | Benedicte Page
Usborne Publishing will be launching a foreign-language publishing operation in Germany this September.
Usborne Verlag will be a joint venture with German publisher DTV. Its first list will feature 36 titles including the Dolly Dressing Sticker book series, and is being managed by Claudia Holzer and Nicola Usborne.
Usborne said it had sold rights in over 600 titles to 39 different German language children's publishers, and had been looking for a joint venture partner "for some time".
The new Usborne Verlag follows the installation of Usborne under its own name in French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch and Brazilian Portuguese languages.
