Usborne has acquired a children’s series about a magical moon kitten from the Peabody author Annie Dalton.
Usborne fiction director Megan Larkin bought world rights for four books from Caroline Sheldon at the Caroline Sheldon Literary Agency.
The first book Moonbeans and the Dream Café will be published in May 2011 with the next three lined up for October 2011, May 2012 and October 2012. The series is aimed at the seven-plus age bracket.
Larkin said: "Annie Dalton is a superb writer for this age group, and we just fell in love with her little mooncat with his sparkly fur and scent of jellybeans!"
The books follow Moonbeans, half moon cat, half circus cat, with a mission to help the people and animals of Goose Green to make their dreams come true.
