Unicorn links with Liki Rossii
03.01.13 | Benedicte Page
London independent Unicorn Press has formed an alliance with Russian publisher Liki Rossii, based in St Petersburg.
The first book to be published in the UK as a result of the link-up will be Jewels from Imperial St Petersburg, a £70.00 illustrated hardback by Ulla Tillander-Godenhielm out later this month. The book explores jewels and objets d'art from the reign of the empress Elizabeth, and through that of Catherine the Great, to the downfall of the imperial dynasty in 1917.
The author's grandfather and great-grandfather were leading jewellers of St Petersburg and suppliers to the Imperial court, with the family firm relocating to Helsinki after the 1917 Revolution.
