Orion imprint Indigo has acquired two novels from author Annabel Pitcher, following on from her debut My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece which was nominated for prizes including the CILIP Carnegie Medal and the Waterstones Children's Book Prize.
Managing director and publisher Fiona Kennedy bought UK and Commonwealth rights in a two-book deal from Catherine Clarke at Felicity Bryan Associates.
Kennedy said: "Annabel is so talented. Her debut novel My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece was one of the most talked about launches last year. I'm thrilled to be able to work with her on her new books and that she's chosen Orion as her publishing home. She has a starry future."
The first book in the new deal will be published in 2014, with details to be confirmed, after Pitcher's second novel from an existing deal, Ketchup Clouds, is released in November 2012.
