Simon & Schuster has acquired a memoir by James ‘Arg’ Argent, star of reality TV series "The Only Way is Essex".
Non-fiction editorial director Carly Cook bought UK and Commonwealth rights, in a multi-publisher auction, from Kate Burke at Diane Banks Associates, in association with Force 1 Management, with plans to publish in spring 2014.
Arg is a long-standing character of the popular ITV2 show, which is currently in its tenth series.
The book is as yet untitled but will look at Arg’s childhood, his rise to fame, his ‘bro-mance’ with best friend Mark Wright, his colourful love life and what it is like to be part of "The Only Way is Essex".
Cook said: "Simon & Schuster couldn’t be more excited about this book. We are all huge fans of the show, and of Arg’s, Simon and Schuster enjoyed brilliant success with Living Life the Essex Way by Sam Faiers and know that we have an equally great author in James. I know that we are going to have a lot of fun publishing a book perfect for every TOWIE fan.”
