Titmuss leaves Readers Digest
09.05.11 | Bookseller Staff
Reader's Digest UK has lost its second c.e.o. in less than a year after David Titmuss left the business.
The Guardian reports Titmuss' decision was made last week and comes just six months after his appointment. Former c.e.o. Chris Spratling left in July last year, several months after he lead a management buyout.
A spokesperson told the newspaper Titmuss plans to pursue other interests and the business will be lead by chairman Sean Cooper, chief operating officer Carrie Hutchison and legal director Doug Nethery until a new c.e.o. is found.
Speaking to The Bookseller last year, Titmuss said he planned to buy new publishing businesses and expected 2011 turnover to be "north of £60m".

I've worked with Titmuss. It was a nightmare. The employees of one of the companies he managed set up a facebook page saying how much they disliked working for him. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
