Amazon Publishing's Thomas & Mercer imprint has acquired the first solo thriller by Louise Voss.
Emilie Marneur, senior acquisitions editor, signed world rights in The Venus Trap from Sam Copeland of Rogers, Coleridge and White.
The psychological thriller revolves around a woman who is held captive in her bedroom after a bad date, and must prove her love for her captor before he kills her.
Voss and co-author Mark Edwards topped the Kindle charter in 2011 with self-published Catch Your Death, before going on to a four-book deal with HarperCollins. The pair moved back to Amazon earlier in the year.
Voss said: "I am really happy to be published by Amazon Publishing for this novel as well as for my joint ones with Mark. It’s my first solo thriller – in fact, my first solo novel in ten years – so it’s all very exciting. Thomas & Mercer have been extremely professional, supportive and enthusiastic in all aspects of the process, as they are with our forthcoming joint novel From The Cradle."
The Venus Trap will be published in spring 2015.
