T&H signs two more from Harris
08.12.10 | Benedicte Page
Thames and Hudson has signed up two new books from Alexandra Harris, who last week won the Guardian First Book Award for her study Romantic Moderns.
T&H m.d. Jamie Camplin bought world rights from Caroline Dawnay at United Agents.
The first title in the new deal will be a short biography of Virginia Woolf, for publication in autumn 2011.
The second, The Weather Glass, will explore the British preoccupation with the weather, from Beowulf onwards.
Camplin said the message of Romantic Moderns to the trade had been "an uplifting one: the book, despite the siren voices, is secure in the hands of a wonderful new young generation of writers."

I finished reading Romantic Moderns last night. I was pretty disappointed, but I can see it going down a storm with the great British public.
