Josephine Cox has become the latest author to have a book adapted by Tesco's new movie venture. A movie adaptation of Blood Brothers is expected to go into production later this year. A release date for the DVD has not been confirmed but it will be initially available in Tesco stores, online and through the non-food Tesco Direct stores.
HarperCollins will publish the hardback of Blood Brothers on 4th February, priced £18.99.
Tesco revealed yesterday that it was teaming up with media company Amber Entertainment to make straight to DVD adaptations of novels. The first adaptation, of Jackie Collins’ Paris Connections, will go on sale in May.
Among the other authors reported to be in talks with Tesco are Philip Pullman, Judy Blume, Dick & Felix Francis, Karin Slaughter, Jacqueline Wilson and Anne Perry.
