The Daily Telegraph's literary editor, Sam Leith, has been made redundant as part of the latest round of job cuts by the Telegraph Media Group.
The Guardian reports that Leith was told of his redundancy yesterday (2nd December) and left the building immediately after nearly 10 years on the paper.
His departure comes after TMG management told staff on last that it was seeking 50 redundancies across its editorial operations before Christmas. In addition to editing the literary pages, Leith also wrote a Saturday column in the paper's comment section.
Leith's book, Dead Pets, an anthology of information about animal mortality, was published in 2005.
