International New York Times bestselling thriller writer Tami Hoag has signed a two book deal with Trapeze Books.
Sam Eades, senior commissioning editor at Trapeze, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, in a deal struck by Peggy Boulos Smith at Jane Rotrosen Agency.
Hoag’s The Boy will be published in Summer 2017 and revisits the characters and setting of her "chilling" thriller A Thin Dark Line, set in the Louisiana Bayou.
Eades said: "Each of Tami’s novels has a clearly defined hook that readers want to talk about, and she combines ambitious plots with psychological depth and characters who thrill reads across the globe. We have ambitious plans for growth including a UK visit around publication next summer. It couldn’t be more perfect that we are publishing The Boy, her stunning follow-up to A Thin Dark Line, 20 years after that initial publication."
David Shelley, c.e.o. Little Brown and Orion said: "I am thrilled that Tami is moving to the Trapeze list. The author of some of the most gripping, unputdownable suspense novels in the genre, and an established international bestseller, her writing is going from strength to strength. I feel that with the positive force of Sam Eades and Trapeze behind her, she will reach an even wider readership."
Hoag added: “With its fresh energy and focused list, Trapeze offers me the opportunity to break new ground while still maximizing my Hachette UK backlist. This is the perfect paradigm of corporate synergy, and I’m thrilled to be able to have the best of both worlds with this persuasive team.”
