Simon & Schuster is to stick with the original publication date of Patrick Swayze's autobiography after the film star died on Monday (14th September). S&S will publish Swayze's The Time of My Life on its original publication date of 29th September as a £17.99 hardback in the UK, and on the same day by Atria in the US.
Mike Jones, S&S editorial director for non fiction, said: "It's very very sad . . . We were so close [to publication] anyway so nothing will be changed about the book." Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi wrote the title together, finishing it at the beginning of the summer.
The title will be serialised in this weekend's Mail on Sunday and News of the World as planned, and Jones said that Niemi wanted to promote the book in the near future.
Swayze was an actor and performer best known for his roles in "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" and US TV series "The Beast".
