S&S buys YA titles from Kresley Cole

Simon & Schuster UK has bought its first young adult titles from paranormal romance writer Kresley Cole, whose adult titles have hit the number one spot on the New York Times bestseller list.

S&S UK children's book publisher Ingrid Selberg bought two titles in the Arcana Chronicles series, to be jointly published with S&S US. The first, titled Poison Princess, follows a teenager in the wake of an apocalyptic event which decimates her home town. Poison Princess will be published internationally in October, with a sequel to follow.

Alongside the young adult deal, fiction editorial director Maxine Hitchcock acquired a further six Kresley Cole adult titles, three continuing the Immortals After Dark series, and three beginning a new series titled Dacians.
