Simon & Schuster has bought the memoir of entrepreneur and creator of the Giggly Pig sausage brand Tracy Mackness.
Senior commissioning editor for non-fiction Kerri Sharp bought UK and Commonwealth rights from Andrew Lownie for a five-figure sum. Pigs Might Fly: The Life and Times of an Essex Bad Girl is being co-written with Deborah Crewe and will be published in spring 2013.
“We can’t wait to publish Tracy’s story,” said Sharp. “Her life story could have come from the pages of a Martina Cole novel, and her voice will appeal to a huge market.”
