Sphere has acquired a book on growing up from actress, singer and vlogger Carrie Hope Fletcher, whose YouTube channel has 450,000 subscribers.
Senior editor Hannah Boursnell acquired UK and Commonwealth rights to All I Know Now: Wonderings and Reflections on Growing Up Gracefully from Hannah Ferguson at The Marsh Agency.
Fletcher, 21, plays Eponine in the West End production of Les Miserables. As well as her YouTube subscribers, she has 300,000 Twitter followers. Her YouTube videos are a mixture of songs, sketches and stories offering advice and insights on growing up.
Boursnell said: “Carrie Fletcher is a warm, funny and reassuring friend to hundreds of thousands of young people and has created a safe and positive space for them to connect and share their hopes and concerns online. We all know that growing up is hard to do and All I Know Now will be an engaging and indispensible guide to getting it – more or less – right.”
Fletcher said: “I've always said I want to have a book with my name on it in the shops one day, so to have that actually happen is beyond exciting to me! I may weep inconsolably when I hold a copy of All I Know Now for the first time. I just hope that everyone who reads it enjoys it and finds some comfort in knowing that the journey through the ‘teen age’ is difficult for all of us and they're definitely not alone.”
All I Know Now: Wonderings and Reflections on Growing Up Gracefully will be published in trade paperback and e-book formats in May 2015.
