Sonny Leong joins executive airline
01.11.07 | Philip Jones
Sonny Leong is leaving Taylor & Francis to take on a director-level role at private jet business One Charter. Leong, who sold Cavendish Publishing to T&F in 2006, has acquired a substantial percentage of the listed One Charter, which operates a fleet of 1,200 private aircraft available for charter. He will start in the new year as non-executive director, and will eventually become chairman "overseeing the entire structure of what I call an air taxi business", he said.
He will remain involved with the book trade through various roles including chairman of BookPower and patron of the IPG. "I've wanted to do this for some time," said Leong. "I'll be contacting all the publishing directors of the big companies to see if they would like us to handle their author tours or trips to Frankfurt."
