Century has secured another two thrillers from author Karin Slaughter, with a two-book deal being signed with the bestseller despite her former editor Kate Elton being on the move to HarperCollins.
Cornerstone managing director Susan Sandon signed the two-book deal for UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, through Victoria Sanders at Victoria Sanders & Associates in New York.
The latest books will be published by Century in 2013 and 2014 respectively, with Arrow paperback editions following a year after they are each published.
Slaughter’s 11th title with Random House, Fallen, will be publised in hardback on 7th July. Century also recently published her digital short, The Unremarkable Heart, the company’s first direct to digital fiction title.
Sandon said: "I’ve been privileged to work with Karin since her first book with Random and I’m delighted to know that two more fabulous-and internationally bestselling-novels are on the way. And with Selina just about to arrive at Century and Arrow the timing couldn’t be better."
Last week, RH announced the appointment of Transworld’s crime and thriller publishing director Selina Walker as publisher for Century and Arrow. Elton, who previously held that role, is to take up the running of HarperCollins’ fiction team.
