Shepherd makes return to DK
24.10.12 | Joshua Farrington
Dan Shepherd has been announced as the new global sales and marketing director at Dorling Kindersley.
Shepherd originally joined the company 12 years ago, working with the production team as sales liasion manager, before becoming UK sales director, then Penguin UK deputy group sales director. His most recent role has been as deputy m.d. of Hachette’s Children’s division.
All DK sales, marketing, PR and online teams around the world will report directly to Shepherd, with the exception of DK Verlag, Brady, Alpha and Web Solutions which will continue to report to c.e.o John Duhigg.
Duhigg commented: “As our markets and customers become more global and new channels continue to develop at a rapid pace, we need to be more global in our thinking and approach. We need a global sales and marketing strategy and a joined-up international brand campaign in order to make the most of the opportunities. With this in mind, I am delighted to announce that Dan Shepherd will be returning.”
Shepherd said: “DK is where I started in publishing so I am looking forward to re-joining the team and playing my part in building on its current success.”
