Sainsbury’s has signed an exclusive deal with independent publisher Constable & Robinson to sell Joan Collins’ new book.
Publishing director at C&R Andreas Campomar said the company hoped to reach a wider audience for Collins’ new title The World According to Joan through the store. The hardback has an rrp of £12.99 but the supermarket will run an introductory deal offering it for £5. The book will be sold online and in more than 400 of the supermarket's stores.
Campomar said: “It’s wonderful to be able to work with the team at Sainsbury’s who are dedicated to developing their book department. Joan’s thrilled to be teaming up exclusively with the retailer and this initiative will help us to reach an even wider readership.”
Phil Carroll, head of books at Sainsbury’s, said: “Joan Collins is an international icon and a national treasure. To have The World According to Joan exclusively is a fantastic opportunity for Sainsbury’s. The book’s set to be one of our top titles this autumn and one we’re confident thousands of our customers will enjoy.”
