J K Rowling will be one of five guest editors in BBC Radio 4’s "Woman’s Hour" takeover week, which will take place 28th April to 2nd May.
Making the announcement on her Facebook page, Rowling said her programme will cover topics such as why so many children are cared for in orphanages around the world, the power and myth of the shoe in popular culture, and why Scotland has the highest number of multiple sclerosis sufferers in the world.
Rowling’s programme will be followed by slots from Kelly Holmes, Naomi Alderman, Doreen Lawrence, and Lauren Laverne.
According to the Radio Times, this is the first time in nearly 60 years of broadcasting that Woman’s Hour has ceded the reins to guest editors.
