Ripley sets up in UK

<p>Ripley Publishing, part of the group which bought Guinness World Records, is establishing a UK presence. Ripley Publishing Limited will be based in London and will handle the design and development of the UK &quot;Believe It or Not!&quot; titles.</p><p>Miles Kelly Publishing had acted as packager for Ripley&#39;s titles for the previous five years, but Norm Deska, executive vice president of intellectual property for Ripley Publishing, said that it was &quot;time for us to take our publishing program to the next level&quot;. &quot;With the tremendous growth of our publishing program, we needed stronger, more immediate control over our product development and the Ripley&rsquo;s Believe It or Not! brand,&quot; he said.</p><p>Anne Marshall will become publisher of the new company.</p><p>Last month Canadian conglomerate The Jim Patterson Group, which owns Ripley Entertainment, acquired Guinness World Records from Hit Entertainment in a deal worth around &pound;60m.</p>
