Headline has signed a hat-trick of fiction deals.
Mary-Anne Harrington, Headline Review publisher, acquired British Commonwealth (BCN) rights excluding Canada (exclusive Europe) from Hachette US to Eowyn Ivey's début, 1920s-Alaska set The Snow Child, out in early 2012.
Associate publisher Sherise Hobbs bought two books from women's fiction author Jessica Ruston, acquiring BCN and Australia and New Zealand rights from Simon Trewin at United Agents, with the first book coming in spring 2012.
And Hannah Sheppard, commissioning editor, has bought BCN rights (excluding Canada) to "feel-good" title The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E Smith in a low five-figure deal with Amy Habayeb at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Headline will publish in September 2011.
