Richie McCaw biog to Aurum Press

Aurum Press has acquired the autobiography of rugby player Richie McCaw, the 2011 World Cup-winning New Zealand team captain, with plans to publish in November 2012.

Publisher Robin Harvie bought world English rights excluding New Zealand and Australia from Hachette New Zealand, concluding the deal at London Book Fair. Aurum will publish in November 2012, to coincide with the All Blacks tour of the Home Nations.

Since McCaw's debut, the All Blacks have won seven Tri Nations titles, completed three Grand Slam tours and won the Bledisloe Cup—contested between Australia and New Zealand—eight times. He became New Zealand's most capped captain in 2010.

Harvie said: "Richie McCaw belongs in the pantheon of sporting legends and is not just a hero to all New Zealand, but to the entire world of rugby. This will be no bland celebrity sports autobiography, but a warts and all account of what it has taken to be the greatest player of his, or arguably any generation."
