Yellow Jersey Press has ordered a 5,000-copy reprint of Seve: The Official Autobiography by Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros, who died over the weekend.
Vintage publishing director Rachel Cugnoni said the reprint began yesterday afternoon (9th May), and said: "We've had orders today from various places."
Yellow Jersey Press editorial director Matt Phillips added: "It was tragic to hear the news about Seve at the weekend. Our current edition of Seve's autobiography is still in print and we are working with retailers to make sure that it is as widely available as possible for everyone who wants to find out more about his amazing life."
Other books about the golfing legend include Seve: Golf's Flawed Genius by Robert Green, published by Anova imprint Robson. A spokesperson said the publisher is considering an "updated reprint", though "nothing concrete" has been decided yet. A Virgin Books spokesperson confirmed it has no plans at present to reissue or update its 2005 biography by Alistair Tait.
Among his many golfing achievements, Ballesteros won the Open three times, in 1979, 1984 and 1988, and the Masters twice, in 1980 and 1983. He died following a lengthy battle with cancer.
